Invasive Dermatophytosis in HIV/AIDS Patient by Zoophilic Trichophyton verrucosum

چکیده
Invasive dermatophytosis is a dermatophyte infection characterized by fungal invasion into deeper skin tissue including the dermis and subcutaneous areas. Herein, man who was an HIV/AIDS sufferer reported to develop unusually invasive in form of nodules ulceration. His CD4+ cells count 88 cells/µl with percentage 1.87%. Self-medication topical antibiotics did not respond. Microbiological examination carried out direct potassium hydroxide preparation culture. The etiologic diagnosis Trichophyton verrucosum established. This one zoophilic fungus that causes ringworm cattle. It suspected patient inoculated due contact fomites containing fungi while working as construction worker. Dermatophytes can cause atypical infections completely unexpected appearance immunocompromised patients. largely determined high level clinical suspicion followed microbiological examination.

Bovine Dermatophytosis Caused by Trychophyton Verrucosum
Outbreak of acute bovine dermatophytosis in a large scale dairy herd in Arusha region of Tanzania is described. Clinical history of the condition complimented with detailed examination of the affected animals (33.3%, 14/42) revealed that animals were pastured during the day and padlocked at night. The main clinical signs presented were gray-white, discrete, crusty, circumscribed extensive lesio...
متن کاملEarly detection and identification of Trichophyton verrucosum.
A new medium for the early detection and identification of Trichophyton verrucosum has been formulated. The key ingredients of the medium are 4% casein and 0.5% yeast extract. T. verrucosum is recognized by its early hydrolysis of casein and very slow growth. Microconidia were produced by 19 out of 35 isolates (54%), and macroconidia were produced by 8 out of 35 isolates (23%). All isolates for...
متن کاملDifferentiating agents of dermatophytosis (Trichophyton mentagrophytes and Trichophyton interdigitale) in human by dual polymerase chain reaction
Background: Dermatophytes create the most common fungal disease in humans, called dermatophytosis. The two species of Trichophyton rubrum and Trichophyton interdigital are responsible for over 80% of types of dermatophytosis. So far, several morphological and physiological methods have been used to differentiate these very similar species, but these methods are generally time-consuming and have...

enzyme activities in trichophyton rubrum, trichophyton mentagrophytes and trichophyton verrucosum
since most of the studies on chemical compounds of dermatophytes have shown the existence of a relationship between their pathogenisity and proteolytec enzymes. activities of 19 different enzymes in viable mycelia and cytoplasmic extracts of t.rubrum (cetr), t.mentagrophytes (cetm) and t.verrucosum (cetv) were investigated by the api-zym system. the results showed that viable mycelia of t.rubrm...
